Eighteen seniors were celebrated for their academic excellence, as well as their selected faculty honorees who influenced and inspired that success. The tournament, presented by returning platinum sponsor Aramark, will benefit the Athletic Program Endowment Fund at WASDEF.

The WASD Education Foundation will host its 14th annual Golf Tournament on Monday, June 24, at the Williamsport Country Club. WAHS junior Lydia Smith has claimed a world championship title.

Registration is open to enroll in summer courses at WAHS. Anna Radspinner has been named Penn State School of Music’s 2018-2019 Outstanding Alumni Music Educator.

The high school will offer two forms of summer courses: credit acceleration and credit recovery to all high school students. According to the music school, the award recognizes “outstanding Penn State alumni for distinguished service to K-12 music programs.”Coleen Genovese began as WASD's new elementary special education supervisor this week. Thursday, March 27) for Williamsport Area Middle School students.

A group WAHS students ranked among the top three at the 33rd annual Envirothon held recently at the Consolidated Sportsmen of Lycoming County along Route 87.

26 Nutritious free meals are available for children and teens 18 and younger at several locations throughout Williamsport during the summer while school is out of session. From hunting blinds to children's playhouses, the items are up for public purchase through a bidding process beginning Thursday, June 27WAHS's Millionaires Lane will close for construction beginning Monday, June 17, from the West Fourth Street entrance up to (but not including) the high school bus loop. Today WASD celebrated the work accomplished together this school year by taking a look back at the 2018-2019 highlights.

Genovese comes to the district from the Benton Area School District, where she most recently served as its K-12 director of curriculum and instruction and director of grant writing and federal programs. Brandon Coleman was recently named Supervisor of Pupil Transportation and School Safety at WASD. The contest features schools from Lycoming and Sullivan counties.

Coleman, who begins April 1, comes to WASD from Keystone Central School District, where he’s held the position of the district’s supervisor of police and transportation since 2009. Please be advised that extensive roadwork will begin in the Newberry section of Williamsport beginning Monday, April 1, and is expected to last through the end of August.
